[[Trailer types]]

__Flatbed Trailer__: A flat oriented trailer typically ranging from 45' to 53' the [[maximum]] length permitted for a trailer.  The trailer is usually 96" wide however [[legal]] trailers can be up to 102" wide.


__Stepdeck Trailer__: A flat oriented trailer that has a [[step]] at the front that is usually three feet higher and about 10' long.

__Removable Goose-neck Trailer__ (RGN): a flatbed oriented trailer which has a removable goose-neck in the front.  This goose-neck detatches from the trailer and when detatched the trailer acts as a ramp for loading heavy equipment onto the trailer.  Removable goose-neck trailers are typically used to haul heavy equipment from job site to job site and have extra [[axles]] in order to accommodate the extra weight.

__Perimeter Frame Deck__:  A perimeter frame deck trailer is for the most part two long rails with axles under them.  A permiter frame deck trailer is used primarily to haul round object such as tanks which rest on each rail supporting the round tank.

__Double Drop__:  A double drop trailer is like a flatbed trailer that is lower to the ground in order the avoid height obstructions. 

__Stretch Trailer:__  Any flatbed oriented trailer that has a mechanism enabling it's deck to stretch longer.

__Pilot Car__: A vehicle that leads or follows a heavy, long, wide or tall load depending on it's requirements to travel by laws.
